The term Scuba comes from Self-Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus (SCUBA). Scuba diving is a form of underwater diving where the divers use SCUBA to breathe. Snorkeling is a way of exploring the fascinating and colorful ocean from the surface. Snorkelers use a specific mask and snorkel to see and breathe below the surface.
Snorkel is an L or J shaped rubber/ plastic tube attached with the mask which helps the Snorkelers to breathe while seeing under the surface. One end of the snorkeling tube remains above the surface and the lower end attached with the mouth of the snorkeler. Andaman Island is a snorkelers’ paradise; Snorkeling facilities are made available at Havelock Island & North Bay Island.
